How does it work?

Though it is an open initiative, this project is adressed mainly to young artists and the only limitations are the common sense and the artistic feel of the production. An artist challenges another one to battle by uploading a movie, sound, text or anything he wishes, as long as it is an artistic production. The other responds by uploading his own production. The battle may consist of more than one upload, until one of the parties admits defeat (may this be also in respect of the viewers' vote, because there will be a voting engine as well on the final version of the website.
This project's main concept is not the battle itself, but the development of a less conventional and more attractive (thus more productive) form of exhibiting artists' works, a more playfull and refreshing approach of contemporary visual art and new media.
The project aims first at a local audience and the local range of artists but we foresee the possibility of opening the project to a wider audience, with time and growth of our innitiative.
Studying on the feasability of the project, the idea of live broadcasting came up (we wanted the battles to be a live experience), but the connection speed in Romania and the costly technology required convinced us that an upload sistem combined with live streaming would be best. At the moment, the platform web-site is hosted for free by a romanian hosting domain, with very little space and several technical issues, but it would need a payed server. The interface is a temporary one and we will definately improve to the final one, especially in visual concerns.
